4 Month Stats

We went to the doctor today for Will's four month checkup! He is 18lbs 14oz and 26 1/4 inches long! I can't believe how big he has gotten!!!!! He of course got his second round of shots, not fun. He didn't stay upset too long, but was somewhat cranky all day! The doctor said I could start him on rice cereal, my mom says I should wait until he is a little older and mom's tend to know best! When did you start your babies on rice cereal????

we started campbell right at 4 months because he was a little under-weight. you can always try it and he will tell you if ready or not. if he spits it all out every time, he's not ready yet.

We didn't start William on rice ceral till about 51/2 mos. The AAP recomends waiting till 6 mos before doing any type of food besides breastmilk/formula. We went ahead at 5 1/2 mos because I thought he might need the extra calories. But then William would only eat about 4 or 5 bites. Once we got to the baby food he perked right up.

My whole thought with foods and babies is you can't wait to long to give them something but you can give something to early and have allergies, tummy aches, etc.

Oh I forgot I'm sure your dr told you but watch out for consipation whenever you do start the rice ceral. William couldn't tolerate it so we had to give him Oatmeal instead.

I have no idea about the rice cereal, but I had to comment on his picture. Those sunglasses are too funny!

4 months for us. Sophie was eating more often and we couldn't seem to keep her full for very long. It was the best thing in the world. It's just that once you start, you tend to want to progress through foods pretty quickly!! It's fun watching them eat veggies and fruit for the first time!!! Good luck! And cute pic!

We started Connor at 4 mos also. I'll have to agree with Amy!! It was great, and he was ready!! At first, things were pretty messy, and he wasn't sure about what was going on, but now he knows, and can't get enough. Our doc said to start w/ vegs and then go to fruit, cause they tend to like the sweet stuff anyway. Bannanas seem to be his #1 hit, still!! I don't know about Wills night sleeping, but Connor instantly started sleeping through the whole night as soon as he started on cereal(rice) and vegs/fruit. Big WOW for mommy!! It seems that Will is a bigger child like Connor, I think that he will do great. Now at 7 mos, Connor will refuse the bottle, but eat anything you can put on a spoon!! Glad to see that you are doing well, and I am so glad that we know about this site now!! I'll keep in touch!!

GREAT PIC B/T/W!!

He is such a doll! We tried rice cereal with Will around 4 1/2 months but weren't very consistent with it. He was breastfed and still ate every 2 1/2 hours so he didn't really care to much about the rice cereal because it is so bland so we didn't really push it. I did mix it with bananas sometimes and he liked that. I thought it would help him sleep better but it didn't. I agree with your mom!
I didn't know y'all were moving to Ohio for a year. I was hoping y'all would be in Nashville. Are you planning on moving to Nashville after Michael's fellowship? I hope so. That will be so much fun!

Hey Girl!!! We started Lauryn on rice cereal at 4 1/2 months. She did well and loved it. She did get a little constipated at times though. We have now started her on vegetables too (she turns 6 mo. tomorrow)! Miss ya'll! Will is precious!

We started rice cereal right at 4 months, and baby food (first yellow veggies, then green, then fruit, then meats) at 5 months.
