I'm going to miss these girls...

Me, Tara, Diane, and Christa - we can't believe that the five years have passed so quickly and residency is over!
Me, Rachel, and Lori - such great friends!
Deidre and Kendy - gorgeous ladies!
Our lovely hostess' Rachel and Lori

Last night we had our last ortho wives dinner at my friend Lori's house. Years ago the wives of the ortho residents started a monthly get together where they would get together to eat dinner, talk, and hang out. I am so thankful for it because these girls have become my best friends. It was so nice to have other girls going through the same things I was. They understood how frustrating it is when your husband works 110 hour weeks and you see them for maybe 30 minutes a day. They understand when you cancel plans with them at the last minute because your husband actually got finished earlier than expected. Granted as they went through the program the easier it got, but that second year of residency they literally worked 110-120 hour weeks. Isn't that insane! Anyway, here are a few pictures from last night!

Daddy's Home...

Michael just got back from Denver tonight. He was there for six days at a board review course to get him ready for his BIG test next month! I am so glad he is home, I really don't like being home alone...

Cupcake Ideas...

A couple of my friends and I are giving a baby shower for one of our friends. It is a couple's shower. The shower will start at 7 pm so our plan is to have a meal (what we are not sure) and then for dessert we were just going to have a cake. Well I thought it would be cute to do cupcakes. I love cupcakes! Plus you don't have to worry about cutting a cake etc. Here are the cupcakes I want to do. I think they are so cute. However, my friend is having a girl and I don't know that I should do blue birds. Any suggestions??? I started surfing cupcake blogs for ideas, but got a little overwhelmed.

In other news, Will went to his first day of Mother's Morning Out last Friday. He loved it! He didn't cry when I left and neither did I!!! My friend Rachel takes her little girl to the same place and she went in and checked on Will. She said he was in an exersaucer and another baby boy had pulled up on it and they were baby talking and laughing at each other! I wish I had a picture or better yet seen it in person! I will say it was SOOOOOOO nice to have some time to myself to do whatever I wanted. Michael had given me a spa gift certificate for mother's day so I cashed that in on a brow wax (they were truly out of control) and a facial! It was so relaxing and just what I needed. He goes again on Friday, let's hope it goes well again!

Grilled Cheese Anyone?

I don't know about you, but I love a good grilled cheese sandwich. I really don't make them often, but when I do it is quite enjoyable! Especially now with this great recipe I found in Southern Living. You really should try it:

Pesto Grilled Cheese:

2tbs. of jar pesto (already prepared, not the packet you add oil to)
1/3 cup of mayonnaise
8 slices of sourdough bread (or whatever you prefer)
Jar of roasted red peppers (sliced)
Sharp cheddar cheese slices (you can change the cheese if you want)
Mozzarella cheese slices

Mix the pesto and mayonnaise together, then spread a thin layer on a slice of bread (do it like you are buttering a slice of bread, it doesn't take much). Also you may be concerned about the pesto/mayo combo. It is delicious, it really cooks on the grilled cheese like butter. Lay the slices pesto side down on wax paper. Layer cheese and red peppers, then top off with another slice of bread with the pesto mixture. Cook it over medium heat in a non-stick skillet or on a griddle. DELICIOUS!!!

Adventures of Will

Will is learning to sit up on his own! He is such a big boy...
Will likes his sweet potatoes, however, he has a new "spitting trick" that he does. I will post the video of this later. It makes feeding him quite messy.
I love to BOUNCE!
Baby Burrito - I left the room and returned to find will wrapped up in his belly time mat!
We had our first playdate at my friend Tara's house. We made ice cream sundaes and Will was quite a fan of the vanilla ice cream. He would scream every time I took the spoon away. We just did a couple of tiny bites...he really did love it.

Will also had his 6 month pictures done last week. Of course he wouldn't smile for the camera, but hopefully they will turn out cute anyway. It would have been nice to have at least one with a smile, but oh well. He is way too interested in studying the camera and everything else around!
