Book recommendations and other random things...

So I took Will to the bookstore today to get some new books. We have done this before and found great books that he loves, but today I got so overwhelmed and didn't buy anything. There are soooo many books and I just couldn't choose! I want more "story" books for him. Not too long and not too short...know what I mean??? We have tons of board books, Eric Carle, Sandra Boyton, etc. So I need suggestions! What do you like to read to your little ones???

The new season of Project Runway started tonight...hope you caught it! Love this show!

If you have hard wood floors - you have to have one of these! It is the greatest thing ever! It vacuums and dusts the floor. Wayyyyy faster than sweeping! Just thought I would share.

I can now do birthdates on the Love My Baby necklaces. Only on the 1/2" circles... Not the best picture, but it does look really cute in person!

That is all for now...:)

Aw, I love the birthdate on the charm! How cute! Ethan's favorite book to read right now is the terrible, horrible, no good very bad day book - can't remember the exact title. He also really loves "I love you Stinky Face" - you have that, right? I could spend a fortune on books!!!

Now that you live in TN sign Will up for Books from Birth. It's the Dolly Parton program where any kids in TN receive a hardback book a month until they are 5 years old. Mary Paul loves all those books. The pluses, they're free so when they get messed up you don't feel so bad, they're hardback so they last longer, and some of them are really good stories. They also have lots of things in them that kids recognize. You can sign Will up on-line just google Books form Birth. Also...Mary Paul loves Chicka Chicka Boom Boom. Whew, that was long.

Hey Court! Know what you mean on the books, but here is a great series that Alex loves!! Authors are Jane Yolen & Mark Teague, and the books are all about dinosaurs. Titles like "How do Dinosaurs say Goodnight", "How do Dinosaurs Clean their Room", ...eat their food, go to school, etc. Great pictures with just enough words and cool pictures - especially for little boys! They make them in big sizes with paper pages, or in the "cardboard" style as well. Enjoy!!

I really might not be able to wait till I get home!!! At least they will probably show it sometime before next wed.

Sign up now for the Dolly Parton library thing - it's great! William loves most of the books we get through that and they are free, can't beat it!

We have a gazillion books, but Hayden loves anything with lift a flap, etc.

I thought about you cuz I started watching a new show on Bravo, "Shear Genius"...I may even have to blog about it!!

The new necklace looks so cute!!
I'll have to check out the sSiffer vac since I have no carpet on one floor of my house. I've never tried that one!! I'm all about saving time. ;)

First of all, where in TN are yall now? I always loved the "If you give a Mouse a Cookie" books when I was teaching first grade. They are short circle stories. I believe the author is Laura Numeroff!

i love the click, clack, moo series. i think there are 3 books in the series, and the author's name is escaping me right now, but they are really fun and cute books. i actually used to use them in my 7th grade classroom to help teach some of the elements of literature.

Love the site. On click, clack, moo -- the publisher is Weston Woods. You might also want to try books by Kevin Henke - there are a slew of them. You probably already have the Hungry Caterpillar. and also the beginning Dr. Seuss

Courtney, The Corduroy series, especially the first book, are good for little ones who are not ready to sit for a story too long. Most little ones have a stuffed bear so the story seems relevant to them.

Enjoy reading to Will!!!
